Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid known to improve blood circulation to the scalp. Hexane is a chemical solvent commonly used in oil extraction. While effective, trace amounts can remain in the final product. Our castor oil is 100% hexane-free, meaning no chemical solvents were used at any stage. This is especially important if you're using castor oil for therapeutic purposes, on sensitive skin, or for hair treatments where absorption matters. Cold pressing without hexane preserves the oil's natural vitamin E, antioxidants, and fatty acid profile.

A castor oil pack involves saturating a flannel cloth with castor oil and placing it on the skin, typically over the abdomen or liver area. To use: (1) Fold a flannel cloth to fit the target area. (2) Saturate with castor oil (about 2-3 tablespoons). (3) Place on skin and cover with plastic wrap or an old towel. (4) Apply a heating pad or hot water bottle for 30-60 minutes.
